Virtual visit to the archaeological site of La Fonteta.

Published by Basilio on

I have made one virtual visit to the archaeological site of La Fonteta in which I have tried one interactive musealization to spread wealth.

The deposit is located in Guardamar del Segura. In this archaeological site there are a few meters away a 8th century BC Phoenician city and a Rábita (Islamic monastery) from the 10th century AD It is currently a museum and you can take guided tours of the site.

A wide selection of Phoenician pottery collected during various excavation campaigns has been documented: amphorae, plates, red lacquer lamps, etc. Remains of archaic Greek pottery and ritual objects such as ostrich eggs, ivory, scarabs have also been found. etc.

The appearance of recycled architectural elements on the city wall are signs of the presence of a temple or sanctuary in an environment yet to be discovered.

Characteristics of the virtual tour of La fonteta.

The site is musealized, in it you can see the archaeological remains from a fenced path. In the virtual visit you can click on any of the nodes marked with a target and you will access the spherical image of that position.

The advantage of the virtual tour being a web link is that it can be physically distributed using the QR code system. So it can be incorporated into tourist information brochures.
