Analysis

The intervention is proposed in a location located at the foot of a ravine in Bolnuevo, a coastal town of Mazarrón. Which has as representative elements some stone mushrooms called «Gredas of Bolnuevo»For the clay from which they are made. (Greda is a type of sandy clay)
In addition to the geological formations, we have Bolnuevo beach on the other side of the site, creating a space that divides the urbanized area of Bolnuevo in two. Between the Punta Vella urbanization at the Cueva de Lobos point and the Playasol urbanization. This generates a hinge space between the marine environment, the protected natural area of the Sierra de Las Moreras and the urban environment. This intervention being a possibility to really structure the spaces named above.
The site is accessed from Pedro López Meca street, which when circulating parallel to the beach forms a small promenade. This is the reason why the current site is currently used as a parking lot in the tourist season, as a fairground and other events.

Space

Sports activities are considered as an option to promote quality tourism in Bolnuevo. That is why the center for athletes in Mazarrón Arquitectura ön is proposed. At the same time, a complementary space for tourist activities is introduced into the program of the project, which is configured with a restaurant and some spaces attached to it.

Light is considered a construction material that configures and hierarchizes the space. The materiality allows the spatial conception to be adapted to the project needs of each space.

In addition to the building, public space is considered a social value that enhances activity and social interactions. Given the urban characteristics of the environment, the project allows the treatment of a degraded urban edge. This action must connect Bolnuevo with places of tourist value such as Las Gredas, the Sierra de Las Moreras or the beach

Materiality

In Architecture ÖN it is proposed to relate uses and spaces with materiality, which should conceptually influence the development of activities to be carried out in said spaces. The exposed concrete allows to generate the transit spaces. While the metallic structure and the cut steel allow to organize the spaces derived from the main uses.
Corten steel is visually related to the surrounding clay called clay. This allows us to fit the lateral bodies on the mountain so that the volumes are individualized.

In conclusion, the treatment of ginning allows the urban space to be closed, articulating a space of exchange between people and activities, which improves the quality of Bolnuevo's tourist offer.
